Admission for chess coaching at Alekhine Chess Club for
20th The Telegraph Schools' Chess Championship participants :

Any participant of the 20th edition of The Telegraph Schools' Chess Championship who scores 7 points or more, may apply for direct admission for chess coaching at Alekhine Chess Club for higher classes. Others securing a minimum of 5points , may also apply for admission and they may be admitted after an interview by the Coach-in-Charge or by any other coach as fixed by Coach-in-charge. Participants securing less than 5 points, may also be admitted if they are between the age- groups of 5 and 8 and they may be admitted after an interview to lower classes of the club. The club may not accept any application for coaching if the age of any participant is 11 or higher.

General Procedure for admission at any time for new sessions:

For seeking admission for coaching, please send one application stating details of the student and the parents. As soon as the present coaching session is over, you will receive a letter from the club for an interview.

The club has different chess classes depending upon the level of understanding of the game of chess by the students. Classes are usually held from Monday to Saturday in the evening and on Sunday in the morning. After the interview, coaches fix the appropriate class for the newly admitted students.

Preferred age for admission is between 5 and 7. 

The club also runs Goodricke National Chess Academy which is basically meant for matured students. Selection for admission to the Academy depends upon various factors like results from classes of the Coaching Centre of Alekhine Chess Club, performance in National and State  Age Group Championships, tournament participation results, etc.
